Orange box! (and other things)

October 15th, 2007

The Orange Box has arrived.

Of course the biggest thing for me (and probably a lot of my high school friends) is the release of the long-long-long-long awaited TeamFortress 2.

I’ve already clocked up 10 hours of gameplay and have reinstalled mIRC to rejoin #oztf :) . Quite surprising that some of the regulars remember my nickname. I wonder if I’ll have the time to join a clan and play some matches.

Read on for a few observations about TF2 and how it’s different from TF: Read the rest of this entry »

Todo list

October 3rd, 2007

Can’t believe that I haven’t posted for so long. Life has been really hectic, with lots going on. Which means my TODO list is getting larger and larger – mostly consisting of important but not urgent tasks or just non-important things.

Here’s the list:

  • Move my speaker system so the rear speakers will ACTUALLY be in the rear
  • Build the Gundam that I bought from some dude in PWC, and also the Gundam I bought from the model shop.
  • Complete the attendance records for my ISYS303 students
  • Start on my .NET MCSD course
  • Do more with williamtsoi.net. (here’s a link to a good article on what one can do with servers). Perhaps:
    • Host photos
    • Manage my torrents remotely
    • Jukebox?
  • Play my Wii more
  • Watch all the movies/TV shows on my Mediagate. Which includes (and is not limited to):
    • Season 2 and 3 of House
    • Zodiac
    • Pirates of the Carribean (all 3)
    • The Bourne movies (all 3)
    • Top Gear polar/arctic special
    • The last season of Family Guy
    • The Pursuit of Happyness

Trigger happiness

May 31st, 2007

This just goes to show how true the stereotype of Americans being too trigger happy is.

Some guy sees an unknown person in your basement at night. Instead of confirming their identity, he (a trained cop) decides to shoot first and ask questions later. Nice move!

Considering that they also invented the FPS genre of gaming, it’s hardly surprising.

Has anyone else watched all 23 episodes (including the season’s finale) of Heroes?
